About Us

Mission Statement

At KIPO (Knowledge In, Power Out) our goal is to empower youth ages 5 – 24 from urban areas (i.e. Philadelphia, PA) through the arts, reading, tutoring, community service, financial literacy, recreation, communication, learning languages, mentoring, and education advocacy.  KIPO plans to accomplish this goal by monitoring youth throughout their school years until he/she graduate high school and college. KIPO will utilize professionals and community partners to foster development skills in each professional’s specialty.

Chandell Miller, Director of Operations

Chandell Miller is a native Philadelphian and Temple University graduate.  He spent many years servicing the city of Philadelphia as a park ranger with the Philadelphia Ranger Corps, as a 911 emergency dispatcher with the Philadelphia Police Department, and as an advocate working with at-risk-youth under court supervision.

  

Today, Mr. Miller is a professor at Northern Virginia Community College serving as the department head for the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Counseling Program.  He has a Master of Science in psychology from the University of Phoenix and currently is enrolled in a Doctor of Education (Counseling, Education, and Supervision) at Argosy University in Arlington, Virginia.  Chandell is in his residency in Virginia for a credential as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in Virginia State. Chandell additionally holds certifications as an (SAP) Substance Abuse Professional with the Department of Transportation and nationally credentialed as an (NCAC II) National Certified Addictions Counselor Level II.

   

Chandell has a passion for inspiring the uninspired naturally through counseling, coaching, and education.  His hobbies include music appreciation, reading, and traveling.  Chandell is a life learner, an out of the box thinker, and is dedicated to inspiring youth to reach his/her fullest potential.
